I officiated a unique wedding on Sunday, 1.13.13 out on the Great Salt Lake on a sailboat (Great Salt Lake Experience) on the "Nauti Girl".
The groom knew he was getting married on Sunday, but he had no idea where. So, she drove him out to the marina on the Great Salt Lake! The Nauti Girl only holds 6 people. J. R. Reynolds takes people out on excursions all the time. He's a great captain!
They wanted it timed perfect to be pronounced husband and wife and kissing right at 1:13pm.....and it was 13 degrees out on the lake! It was perfect timing, and calm out on the lake. It was beautiful yet bitter cold--a very "cool" wedding! J. R. Reynolds is the captain of Nauti Girl and takes people out on excursions.....any time of the year. Michele and Andreas Przybyla (bride and groom). They knew each other when they were in grade school . . . she had a crush on him at different times growing up, and then they re-connected 3.5 years ago.......and got married last Sunday! I have attached some great pictures!

When I was officiating a wedding at Millcreek Inn, one of the groomsmen totally passed out! I guess he locked his knees during the ceremony and fell flat on his face. We stopped the ceremony and sat him down in a chair. That was crazy. It was slightly raining during this wedding, and I always conclude my ceremony with the Apache Blessing that starts...."Now you will feel no rain, as you will be shelter for one another." Everyone busted up laughing!
Also, this last New Year's Eve, right in the middle of the bride delivering her vows---he bends down and starts talking to me in a panic saying "The rings! I forgot the rings on the nightstand!!!!" And, then his Best Man informed him that they were in his pocket safe and sound. So, the bride puts her hands on her hips and says "So....let's start over again!" That was hilarious!
I've seen all kinds of kisses from tiny little pecks to lip locks! But, the thing that I enjoy most, is watching the groom when his bride comes into view and watching those tears of amazement spring into his eyes. Then, he wipes those tears from his cheeks in anticipation of his beautiful bride reaching his side for their ceremony to begin.
I've been doing more 25th Wedding Anniversary renewal vows lately, and this summer--it was a surprise for the husband. I worked with his wife over several weeks. They had dinner at the Grand America Hotel, and I pretended to be part of the hotel staff and met them in one of the gift shops and asked if anyone would like a tour of the gardens, and then when I took them out into the garden area, I turned around and said, "Happy 25th Wedding Anniversary!" I loved the surprise element! I've attached a picture of the anniversary couple!

Since we are talking about free throws, it reminded me of an idea that was given to me when I was married- The florist made my bridal bouquet but when I was ready to throw my bouquet, we traded it for another one that was made- and this was special because it was 24 red roses that were singles, so when I threw it there were 24 girls who got a rose!
