So, I hired a videographer, but my regret is not paying good money for one. Yes we do have a video which I am grateful for, but it is so badly done it is funny :) There is a big difference between a videographer, and a really good one like Chris. Chris allows you to feel in his videos and after each one of his, I am on the verge of crying. They are so beautiful and I would love to squeeze back into my dress and do it right 7 years later. I would love to win this! :)

My Video Regret:

My name is Ashlee Paxton and I married my hunk of a military man on July 10, 2010. My HUGE VIDEO REGRET is that, it’s not that we couldn’t afford a videographer, but didn’t know how AMAZING their job truly is! We honestly just didn’t know much about the business and also got married in NM and didn’t know anyone who could do it. We didn’t get wedding photos or bridals due to a family mishap, where my parents now can’t afford to pay for them and also have no video of our special day. I don’t want pity or sympathy, I want to make up for my mistakes of not doing my research and listening to others about the one day I will ALWAYS want to remember and cherish. If I could try to re capture that day I’d ask for Chris McClain Productions to do it!! He has an amazing talent and I know he could fill that hole of my one BIGGEST regrets! We, as a couple, try to cherish and keep items to help keep our memories fresh, but like every human being out there, those memories start to fade and I know this video will keep the love, romance, and personality of both of us ALIVE and remind us why we picked each other! Pick us for this contest!! You won’t regret the fun you’ll have working with us!

Being a wedding photographer I always envy my brides that hire a videographer because I know that you cannot recreate their wedding and they will always have those memories to look at. I know this because I didn’t hire one {almost 12 years ago!} and still regret it. (Even though twelve years ago my film probably would have had some cheesy effects like the groom standing in my hand, at least we could laugh about how cheesy they were back then!) When we were married the Salt Lake Temple grounds were under construction. My dad was actually the supervisor over the project, so having the construction in the pictures was actually a fun memory. Having said that, I don’t really have even a picture with the whole temple in it, let alone any video that would capture the memories that happened that day.
My wedding day was kind of a disaster, well except the sealing in the temple. That was AMAZING. I actually fell asleep standing up while doing pictures in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. I had about three hours of sleep-not something I would recommend to my brides. After the temple we tried to make our own wedding slideshow from pictures my friend had taken at the temple. It was back when we used film, so we had to go to the one hour film developing, then scan the pictures onto the computer, then put them in a program to make our slideshow. Let’s just say we barely got it done in between and went right to the reception. It was not the most relaxing day or stress free, but honestly, it would have been funny now to have it recorded for use to look back on and laugh!
I would love to have Chris use his amazing skills to do a redo for us, even though we don’t look the same (a few extra wrinkles and a little less hair!), and I would have to use a new dress (not sad about this part!!), I know that it would be a fun memory for us to look back and laugh about years from now.
