Ultimate Utah Wedding

BrideAccess.com partnered with the University of Utah to feature the 2011 Ultimate Utah Wedding, a University of Utah themed wedding. I think this is the greatest contest for college kids ever! Couples sent in a short video on why they are the Ultimate Utah fan. Some were very creative! From those videos, three couples were picked as finalists. Then there was an online vote to decide on the Ultimate Utah Wedding couple. It was a fun way to get the fans involved. The winners were Lee and Katrina.

The ceremony was on the football field and the reception at The Tower at Rice Eccles Stadium.

Oh, wow! There was more fun... the fans were able to vote on every aspect of the wedding! The invitations, cake, catering, photographers, etc. This couple had to be game for whatever was voted on! As you can see, this wedding really turned out incredible! I love the invitation done by Mike Bailey Printing with Zuma Photography on the engagement picture. And who doesn't love Cafe Rio who did the Rehearsal DInner!! The ceremony on the football field had perfect August weather with the sun going down behing the stadium in perfect time. It was so beautiful. Diamond Rental did a great job with all of the chairs, tables and decorations. The songs that Laughing Gravy played while the wedding party entered made me cry- Man from Snowy River and Theme from Forest Gump. But then the song they played when the bride and groom were pronounced Man and Wife and walked back down the aisle made me laugh- The Utah Fight Song! Saratoga Jewelers were so sweet to do the wedding bands. I loved the red couch provided by IKEA and thought it was perfect that Swoop, the Mascot, sat on it front and center during the ceremony. Everything was so well thought out! What the public chose for the couple and the wedding party to wear was brilliant- I love red, white and black- it was stunning! Thank you to Mary's Bridal and Jim's Formal Wear! The flowers from Brown Floral tied everything perfectly together. I loved the flower balls the little flower girls had- I've never seen that before- so fresh and creative! Isn't this fun to see what these professionals are coming up with?!

After the ceremony we went upstairs to The Tower. Wow! What an absolutely beautiful venue. I have never seen a view of SLC like that! And on the other side of the room I could look down on the stadium (they were doing bridal pictures at that point :-) Ok now to the good part- THE FOOD! Elizabeths Catering went WAY over the top. The couple wanted to have both cultures represented in the food, so I thought it was clever- one side of the buffet was Asian food and the other was American BBQ. Yes, I went down both sides! The food didn't only look beautiful... it tasted amazing! The cake from Granite Bakery was a 5 tier cake! Beautiful and elegant with a big U on top. I love how everything had the theme of University of Utah brought into it- even the favors from Smile Now! Photobooths. Oh isn't that the cutest grooms cake ever-thinking of their dog Elle?! The DJ kept everything rolling and exciting all night and the All Occasions Photobooth was great entertainment. Another cool thing was the water features brought by Aquafect, once again bringing in the color RED. I loved hearing that the couple was counseled by Stronger Marriage. I am a firm believer that counseling is good for everyone. What a nice thing to offer an engaged couple! Sam with Something Vintage Something Blue once again brought his pretty white Princess car for the couple to leave in! Wild Sage Events gave them a two night get away to top it all off!

Thanks again to Dezember Photography for the beautiful photos they provided me so I could do this blog. It was so hard to choose which ones to put on here- I got it down to about 50. I should have just put them ALL on here and you could have a record for the longest, most awesome pictures in a blog post ever!
